June 18-23 San Francisco, John Muir NP

We drove to San Francisco and saw the Golden Gate Bridge shrouded in fog. Later we drove along the coast on Highway 1 and stopped at the beach for a bit. There were some men there who were catching crabs. They let the kids hold them, but we were all bummed to realize that they were tearing off their pincer claws to render them “harmless.” Poor crabs!

Signs like this saddened me.
